Biography
. Professor Foster has co-authored 320 scholarly articles and is a named inventor on 5 granted patents in the drug delivery IP landscape. Professor Foster has supervised and mentored 23 Early Career researchers, 34 PhD students, 15 Masters students and approximately 100 Honours research students. Professor Foster has also been involved at senior management level in the pharmaceutical industry, in both public and private sectors. His creativity and courage in identifying and pursuing new frontiers in drug delivery systems, and translating these concepts into commercialization have been clearly demonstrated.
Research Interest
Professor Foster has made a significant contribution to his research field over a sustained period of time. The impact and contribution of Professor Foster’s work have been recognised with several honours and awards. In 2014, he was accorded the Honour of being elected a Fellow of the European Academy for Science and the Arts – he is one of only 3 Australians who are currently Fellows of this prestigious Academy. In 2010, the Central Organisation Committee of the People’s Republic of China bestowed on Professor Foster the honour of a National Professorship under the auspices of the Qian Ren 1000 Talents programme. At the time of the award he was one of only 4 non-National Chinese to be so recognised.
