Paramespri Naidoo is the Co-Director of the Thermodynamics Research Unit, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. This research unit specializes in phase equilibrium studies (high-low pressure-temperature measurements and modeling), vapour-liquid, liquid-liquid and solid-liquid equilibrium. She has been specializing in this area, developing new equipment to extend the range and versatility of the experimental capabilities within the research unit. This research is supported by local chemical process industries, and in collaboration with several internationally recognized research groups in the field of Chemical Thermodynamics and Separation Studies.

Dr Amarjit Bakshi has a Ph.D and also undergraduate degree both in Chemical Engineering from University of Surrey, Guildford.He has over 35 years experience in Engineering/ Consulting Management at senior level ( C level) in Process Engineering, Technology, Business Development, Licensing, Acquisitions, Alliances and Project Management and Engineering, Operations Management and Process Engineering. Provided proven leadership and vision with broader perspectives and able to manage multiple tasks and personnel on mega projects. For last 7 years he has been consulting in Upstream, midstream, transfer of oil/gas by pumping, petrochemicals with NOC’s, major oil and petrochemical corporations including management consulting organizations like BCG, Bain Consulting group and so many other organizations. He have been providing consulting in operations, training of facilities engineering, technology, Catalysts application and development/formulations, acquisitions, alliances, operations and corrosion in most of Oil and gas industry areas.

His research interests include Petroleum and Chemical Engineering,Process Engineering.

Dr.Hiregoudar Yerrennagoudar has born on 23rd July in 1965 and graduated in 1987 in Mechanical Engineering from Gulbarga University. Also, Post graduated (Master of Engineering) in Thermal Power Engineering in 1991 from the same Gulbarga University. Acquired the highest degree of PhD in IC Engines using alternative fuels and bio-fuels from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in the year 2011.The professional career has been started in the year 1992 as lecturer in Rao Bahadur.Y. Mahabaleshwarappa Engineering College and worked in various capacities as Assistant Professor, Professor, PG- Coordinator for (TPE), Director for STEP (Science and Technical Entrepreneur Park). Also working as Dean R&D for the college. Worked as principal in this college from 11-04-2016 to 07-7-2017. Presently working as Professor, Dean and PG- Coordinator

Published more than 125 papers in international journals / international conferences/ national conferences. Five patents are being filed in the field of IC Engines. Many research projects are being carried out which are sanctioned the government if India, Karnataka state and Visvesvaraya Technological University. Guided more than 70 project for Under Graduates and more than 20 projects for PG graduates. Two PhD’s are produced under my guidance. Further 8-research scholar are doing their PhD’s’ under my guidance.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Hadi Dehghani (PhD) is a Full Professor at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), School of Public Health, Department of Environmental Health Engineering, Tehran, IRAN.

His scientific research interests include the Environmental Health and Sustainable Development, Air Quality and Health, Water treatment (using Sono-treatment, Adsorption, AOP, Nano-treatment), Drinking Water and Health, Air Pollution and Human Health, Solid Waste and Disposal, Environmental Toxicology and Human Risk Assessment. He is the author of various research studies published at national and international journals, conference proceedings and Head of several research project at the TUMS. He has authored 8 books and more than 150 full papers published in peer- reviewed journals.

Dr. Adel M. Al Taweel, P. Eng. holds a Ph.D. and MSc. in Chem. Eng. from the Univ. of Colorado, and a B.Sc. in Chem. Eng. from the Univ. of Alexandria. He taught/conducted research at several international universities (Asst. Prof., Alexandria Univ.; Res. Fellow, KIT D; Res. Assoc., UNB CA; Assoc. Prof., KSU, Riyadh SA; Assoc. Prof./Prof. TUNS, Halifax CA; Prof. Dalhousie Univ., Halifax CA; Prog. Prof. UTT, T&T; Adj. Prof. Dalhousie Univ., CA). He was also a visiting professor at: NSPower Inc; Canadian Fuel Processing Labs, Edmonton CA; and UWI, St. Augustine T&T, where he helped establish the Env. Eng. Master’s Program). He also provided leadership for several academic/research/business organizations (Dept. head, TUNS; Research Center Director, KSU, Riyadh SA; General Manager, Al Kawther Water Treatment, Jeddah SA; Assoc. Because of his accomplishments, he was honoured by: Fulbright Scholar, Fellow of the Karlsruhe Intern. Seminar, Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Chemistry, Inter-American Development Bank Visiting Professorship.

His main research interests include: development of intensified multiphase processing units, water/wastewater treatment and the simulation/analysis of power generating and energy conversion systems.

M. R. Riazi received a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) and is the author of 150 publications including 6 books in the areas of oil, gas, coal and biofuel characterization, production and processing. In addition he has over 100 conference presentations and about 100 invited lectures and workshops for the petroleum industry in more than 40 countries. He has served as an Assistant Professor at Penn State as well as Visiting Professor / Scholar in the Departments of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the following universities: Illinois/Chicago, Texas/Austin, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim), McGill (Montreal), Waterloo, and some other universities in US, India and Middle East. He is a professor and former chairman of Chemical Engineering at Kuwait University and is the Editor-in-Chief of IJOGCT. As a result of his work, Dr. Riazi has been honored as the recipient the following awards: Diploma of Honor from United States National Petroleum Engineering Society for the Outstanding Contributions to the Petroleum Industry, KU Outstanding Research and Teaching Awards (received from former Amir of Kuwait) and was an elected Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He is a registered and licensed professional engineer in Ontario, Canada.

Dr Sheng Dai was the acting Head, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide (Australia) from July 2016 to March 2017. He was also the Director of Teaching, School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide (Australia) from 2014 to 2015. Other than this Dr. Sheng Dai has several other experiences in various posts. He also has a several accolades to his name to name a few: Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP160104632 (Australia), Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP140104062 (Australia), Australian Research Council Discovery Project DP110102877 (Australia), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Postdoc Fellowships (Canada), 2008-2009, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council Visiting Fellowships (Canada), 2007.

Giacomo Cao, was born in Cagliari on September 22, 1960. He received his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cagliari in February 1986 and his PhD also in Chemical Engineering at the University of Bologna in 1990. He became Assistant Professor in 1990, Associate Professor in 1992 and Full Professor in 2001. He has been “visiting scholar” at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Notre Dame, USA in 1988, 1992 and 1993 as well as £research associate” in 1993 at the same University. From 1992 he has been teaching several courses related to Fundamentals in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cagliari. He has been University of Cagliari representative in the Interuniversity Consortium “The chemistry for the environment” from 1994 to 2008 and responsible of the corresponding research unit as well as founder and first chairman of the Interdepartmental Center of Environmental Science and Engineering from 1996 to 2004 at the University of Cagliari. He has been consulting for CRS4 from July 1998 to July 2015. Since October 2013, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Legal Representative of the Sardinian AeroSpace District (DASS) Scarl. He is serving as Chairman of the Department of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Cagliari since July 2015. Since November 2016, he has been included in the list of the Top Italian Scientists. He has been coordinating/participating several national and international research project funded by various Companies, Institutions, and Agencies. He is co-author of 3 books, 2 edited book, 12 patents, more than 170 papers in refereed journals and more than 300 presentations at national and international symposia.

His principal research interests are chemical reaction and reactor engineering, synthesis of advanced materials, separation technology via ion-exchange resins, tissue engineering, environmental chemical engineering and space exploration technologies.

Angelo Basile, researcher Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), is responsible for the researches related to Inorganic Membrane Reactors (MRs). He published more than 100 papers, and more than 70 invited speaker/plenary lectures and 230 papers in proceedings of International Conferences; editor of 6 scientific books and other 30 chapters on books on MRs and guest editor of 30 Special Issues; 6 Italian patents, 2 European patents and 5 worldwide patents. Since 2014 he is full Professor of Chemical Engineering Principles at University.

Research Relates to both the ultra-pure hydrogen production and CO2 capture using Pd-based Membrane Reactors.

Professor Zhenyu Sun received his BSc. Degree in Material Science and Engineering in 1995 at Tianjin Polytechnic University, and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry in 2006 at Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He worked at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, as a Postdoctoral Research fellow from 2006 to 2008, at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, as a Postdoctoral Research fellow from 2011 to 2014, and at Oxford University, UK, as a Postdoctoral Research fellow from 2014 to 2015. His research interests include exfoliation and dispersion of two-dimensional materials, and catalysis in energy-related reactions (e.g., CO2 conversion, and N2 reduction). He has published about 90 peer reviewed papers in international journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, Chem, etc. from 2004 to date. These journal papers have been cited a total of ~ 6500 times to date. Zhenyu Sun has a research H-index of 32. He was awarded as an Alexander Humboldt Fellow in 2014. He is now working in the College of Chemical Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China.

Controlled synthesis and rational design of nanostructured catalysts through new schemes for heterogeneous catalysis (CO2 and Olefin conversion, etc.) and electrocatalysis (ORR, etc.) as well as the fundamental understanding of reaction mechanism. Dr S. Joseph Antony is an Associate Professor at the School of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Leeds, U.K. His experimental approaches include a wide variety of advanced characterising and stress sensor techniques including AFM, SEM, PSAT and IR tomography, and DPIV. He focuses on linking the effects of material properties at exceedingly small scales (molecular/nano/micro) to bulk scale mechanical, electrical and chemo-mechanical properties in a wide variety of engineering applications. Joseph has published over 130 papers in several reputed international journals and conference proceedings. He actively participates in the activities of particle technology community in U.K and abroad. He holds membership in several international professional bodies and serves in the technical committees in his area of research including the ASME committee on the constitutive behaviour of materials. Currently, he serves in the editorial boards of more than 10 international journals and a regular reviewer of several leading journals including Physical Review Letters and Physical Review E. He has won many awards, including the prestigious M.I.T Young Research Fellowship for Exemplary Research in Computational Mechanics and the Certificate of Merit as an Example of Outstanding Achievements in U.K Particle Science and Technology in 2002, PTSG, IChemE, U.K. He has served as a guest editor for the Jl. Granular Matter and the lead editor of the book ‘Granular Materials: Fundamentals and Applications’, published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, London in 2004. His research sponsors include EPSRC, Royal Society, DTI, ICI, BNFL, P&G, Pfizer, Borax Hosakawa Micron, Bridon International Ltd, Merck Sharp & Dohme and DuPont (U.K).

His research expertise is in the area multi-scale modelling and experimental mechanics of materials in both discrete and continuum form including their nano and micromechanics. He has a strong expertise in materials modelling including MD, DEM, FEM and analytical methods.

Vakhtang has completed his Ph.D and D.Sci. in 1978 and 1999 from Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, Russia and Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Tbilisi, Georgia, respectively. He is the head of Department of plant biopolymers and chemical modification of natural compounds at the Tbilisi State Medical University Institute of Pharmacochemistry. 1996 and 2002 he has been a visiting scientist at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, by University Scholarship and The Netherlands organization for scientific research (NWO) Scholarship Scientific Program, respectively. He has published more than 96 papers in reputed journals.

His expertise ranges in isolation and structure elucidation of a new series of plant polyethers, which are endowed with pharmacological properties as anti-cancer agents. Besides, he interested in enantioselective synthesis and biological activities of basic monomeric moiety of these biopolyethers, synthesis of enantiomerically pure epoxides as chiral building blocks for the production of synthetic analogues of natural polyethers.

Dr. Mohammed Kuddus has completed his PhD in Enzyme Biotechnology from SHIATS, Allahabad and joined Integral University, India in 2007. At present, he is working as an Associate Professor and Chairman of Biochemistry at University of Hail, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Kuddus’s main research area includes enzyme engineering and microbial biotechnology. He has published more than 50 research articles in reputed journals along with 7 book chapters; and presented more than 35 abstracts in national/international conference/symposia. He has been serving as an Editorial Board Member and Reviewer of various international reputed journals; and worked as organizing committee member for 6 international conferences/symposia. Dr Abbas Amini is an assistant professor at the Australian College of ACK and Western Sydney University, and the member of graduate supervisory board. After obtaining PhD, he conducted research with other Australian universities, as a postdoctoral research fellow at Monash and Deakin Universities, and as a senior research fellow at the University of Melbourne. His fine outcomes have been presented in high impact factor journals, e.g., Nature publication group, and a recent published book in 2016. Abbas is the editor of ten reputed journals, and the committee member of 20 international conferences.

Rafael Borja is a Doctor in Chemical Sciences since 1989. He obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees in Chemical Sciences from the University of Cordoba, Cordoba, Spain, in 1985 and 1986, respectively. In 1986 he started his scientific activity in the Instituto de la Grasa belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC) of Seville, Spain. During the period 1992-1994 he made a research stay in the Environmental Technology Centre of the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, UK. He is currently a Research Scientist and responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Group, which is integrated in the Food Biotechnology Department of the Instituto de la Grasa (CSIC). He is author of more than 230 original peer-reviewed research papers published in international Scientific Journals included in the Science Citation index (SCI). He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal Process Biochemistry since 2000 and of “The Scientific World Journal” between 2012 and 2016. He has supervised five doctoral theses and is co-author of six patents. He has been responsible and participated in 24 international and national researches through different projects funded by the European Union, Spanish Ministries of Science and Innovation and Economy and Competitiveness and Andalusia Government. He has participated in 17 research contracts carried out between the Instituto de la Grasa and various Spanish and foreign companies related to the purification and treatment of wastewaters and solid wastes from agro food industries. He was vice-president of the International Association of Mediterranean Agro-industrial Wastes (IAMAW) between 2013 and 2015, being currently member of the Audit Committee of this Association, which is located in Perugia, Italy. In 1991, he received the “San Alberto Magno” Doctoral Thesis Prize awarded by the National Association of Spanish Chemists (ANQUE), Delegation of Andalusia. According to the Scholar Google and Scopus databases he has an h index of 54 and 43, respectively with a total of 8550 and 5824 cites, respectively (accessed on 30 November 2017). According to the h and Fh indexes, he is currently included among the most outstanding Spanish researchers within the topic: Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology.

Fawzi Banat is a Professor & Cahir of Chemical Engineering Department at the Petroleum Institute. After obtaining his chemical engineering doctorate at McGill University, Canada, in 1995, he taught at several universities before joining the PI in 2011. He has published over 120 papers in reputed journals and served in many scientific committees. In recognition of his distinguished work, he received several prestigious awards.

Dr. Rafiqul Islam was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University of Dhaka. He is a Professor and former Chairman of the Dept of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, University of Dhaka. He is the Director, Center for Climate Change Study. Dr. Islam did his Ph.D. from Azerbaijan Institute of Petro-Chemical Processes, Academy of Sciences in 1985. He became the Winner in the Moscow Olympiad of Young Scientists in 1984. Dr. Islam was a visiting Professor in many renowned universities of Asia and Europe and availed many prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowships like Marie Curie Bursary by the Commission of the European Communities in Clausthal Technical University, Germany; UNESCO Fellowship in East China University of Science & Technology Shanghai; Alexander von Humboldt & Europe Research Fellowship in Stuttgart University, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, University of Geneva, Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands and Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship in the University of Nottingham, UK. Professor Islam made more than 70 publications in national & international journals on Energy & Environment related research. He is Member of several Professional Bodies in Bangladesh and abroad. He was the Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Chemical Society and Vice-Chairman of Bangladesh International Chemical Congress of 2008 and 2012. Prof Islam was appointed as First Ambassador Scientist of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Germany in Bangladesh for two terms until 2016 and was the country Adviser for the DelPHE (Development Partnership for Higher Education), UK. He is also the First President of the Bangladesh Association of Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows and the elected President of the Alumni Association of German Universities in Bangladesh..
